We will not carry factory second panels but will special order them if the clients requests even though we do not recommend this. All panels are made from silicon wafers that are 99.999% pure and while the methods of these wafers may differ in how they are made, the end results are very much the same. Yes there are panels that do not meet factory rating and are sold as seconds. They will last just as long, but just do not produce as much power as the high quality panels. The other aspect in the panel cells are the terms mono-crystalline and poly-crystalline. The mono are made by the CZ method where the wafers are grown from a single cell of silicon and the poly are made using the FZ (float zone )method where they are made from many different cells. Arguments happen every day about which is better but it all comes down to a very small difference of less the 0.01% and each side argues they are that tiny bit better. We can not take either side and so we say they are equal for all intents and purposes. 

Solar panel 

The SA250-96 solar panel is a very high quality panels that gives 17-18% real world efficiencies. Compare this to the 12-15 % of most other panels and you will see just how good this really is. It produces a high 250 watt output yet the panel is small in size which means you can get more panels in any given area. Most other panels to achieve this rating would be almost a foot longer and same width. The all aluminum frame will last for many decades and that an important future, as the solar panels are guaranteed for 90% of rated power after 10 years and 80% of rated power after 25 years. So as you can see these are not a short term thing. Our pricing of $4.00 per watt means that this panel will pay for itself in 5-6 years and the rest is all free electrical power from then on.
